Some gorgeous artwork over at Leif.
(Top two artworks are by Xochi Solis. Bottom two are by Malissa Ryder.)

Do you ever look at some of the awesome work out there and think- wish I'd thought of that!! I do this on a daily basis with EVERYTHING on Minieco.
Kate's D.I.Y projects are always ridiculously stunning and this Valentine's Day holiday is no exception... If you haven't already, you should check them all out here.

These cutie-patootie cards I created may be a tad last minute for Valentine's Day. But hey, romantic gestures don't need to be reserved merely for the holidays.

All you need is a printer, good quality white card stock, patterned masking tape and a mini pink (or red) colour pencil.

I hope you like them! :)

Last Thursday was my birthday! I turned 30 again (for the 4th time in a row). So, naturally, I felt it was time for a wee bit of a shopping spree. You know, to spend some of my hard-earned birthday cash. Took a stroll through Fitzroy on Saturday and spotted this pretty + colourful necklace by Stampel at Dagmar Rousset (such a cute shop!) It even came in the most gorgeous little box. I just couldn't resist...
Happy Birthday to me.

One: Dear Creatures Spring 2013 Collection | Two: Kiko+ Tanabata Domino Set from Rakuten | Three: Gorgeous DIY gift wrap tutorial by Anastasia Marie | Four: Karolina Bow heels from Kate Spade

There are soooo many gorgeous throw pillows available at Society6 from some great designers. I decided to pull together just a few examples of some of their bright, colourful and abstract pieces on offer. Don't you just love cushions?

I've whipped up this mini 2013 calendar for you to download and print.

As you can see, it clearly flaunts my obsession with all things sweet!

Each month comes on a separate colourful card that you can pin or hang up, use on your desk or carry with you in your bag.

Use it as a cute little christmas/holiday gift for friends and family, or just keep it for yourself!

Have a sweet new year!

I know the incessant carolling can be mind-numbing, the overly crowded shops are tear-your-hair-out frustrating and the tinsel is overwhelming but I love this season. Probably because it gives me an excuse to go details crazy. And we all know how much I love my details. Wrapping, baking, decorating... oh my!

With this holiday freebie, I decided to go for a little more of a traditional vibe... because the classics can be fun too!
It's a kind of tag/card hybrid to adorn your gifts or send in the mail- and it's available in 2 designs. I have also included a cute red and blue plaid pocket to tuck the tag into. The recipient can put the tag on display, much like a greeting card, except it can be tied to the Christmas tree or a hook, or decorative branches...

Oh, and the little toothpick signs that you see in some of these photos are part of freebie set that I will make available soon, so stay tuned!

Firstly, I want to send out big hugs to all those who sent sweet comments and tweets regarding my new site- it makes me so happy to receive such positive feedback! It's always a little nerve-wracking when you make such a major change so it's been wonderfully encouraging. You guys rock- Thank-you so much!! xo
Now, onto some holiday goodness...
Down here in Oz we usually celebrate our Christmas in the scorching heat. Our festive season is a flurry of barbecues, pool and beach parties, picnics and warm sunshine... not exactly the typical motifs associated with the holiday season.

So I thought I'd create a series of patterned gift tags in bright colours to reflect a more modern and summery feel for your holiday gifts! If you're interested in trying a slightly less traditional look for your gifts this year, these tags may be for you!

During my break I also managed to get a bit of a head start on some holiday freebies which I look forward to bringing to you over the next few weeks.

I'm currently intent on decorating our home and finding some ridiculously awesome stuff in the process. The only problem is, I want it all!
{01} Marigold flower weave rug from Armadillo and Co. So pretty.
{02} Colourful bamboo tableware from Core Bamboo
{03} Lots of nice goodies in the By Joost store.
{04} Loving the 'Pop' bamboo/lacquer collection from Ekobo Ecology and Design
{05} Would LOVE some colourful artwork by Arite Kannavos to brighten up our walls!
{06} Currently obsessed with bone wood frames like this one from Husk
{07} How cute is this Samara stool? By Nicoya Furniture
{08} Absolutely stunning green bone inlay chest of drawers with such an intricate design. From My French Interiors
{09} I can't resist a good typographic cushion. From Poulier and Poulier

So I promised you another 'Bon Appetit' cutlery tag freebie. However, I'm still awaiting those props I ordered. {Sigh}. Crossing my fingers and toes in the hope that they'll arrive next week.
In the meantime, I thought I'd play around with watercolour paints...

These are just a bit of fun and super-easy to do. Using thick watercolour paper (not exceeding 280gsm) I've cut out tag shapes with a craft punch then basically just messed around to see what kinds of pretty and striking colour effects I can make with watercolour paints, (e.g, gradients, colour-blocking, etc.) Nothing fancy, just keeping it simple. I've then used some mini alphabet stamps and coloured inks, to print some messages on them. Voila. Easy as pie.

You can use them to decorate gifts or to add a splash of colour to a table-setting!
Happy Friday! xo
