New Printable Holiday Gift Tags in the shop | December 16, 2014

Only a week or so to go! Usually around this time the panic starts to set in. Thankfully, I'm a bit more organised with my Christmas prep this year! I have to admit, however, I am fast slipping into a 'Holiday Daze'. I'm finding it increasingly hard to think straight...

Despite this condition, I have managed to pop another gift tag printable up in my shop!

Add a burst of bright colour to your holiday projects- gifts, table-settings, you name it- with these 'painterly' tags. I've actually supplied three variations within the one PDF- "Joyeux Noel", "Noel" and "Happy Holidays". Just $2 (USD) for the digital file. Print as many times as you like!

Free Printable Toucans | December 03, 2014

Adore Home magazine recently asked me to create a festive holiday project for their annual printed issue and so I designed these mini toucan printables!  They make cute place-setting cards for tropical-themed summer luncheons, gift tags or even tree decorations for the festive season!

You can check out the full project with instructions in the gorgeous Adore Home annual printed issue available here or in select newsagencies across Australia.

Free Halloween "Bite Me" Candy Bag Toppers | October 23, 2013

So, it's occurred to me that I've never actually designed a Halloween freebie before. I guess it's because we rarely celebrate this holiday down here in Australia... When we moved from our inner-city apartment to our house in the 'burbs, a couple of years ago, we expected a sudden surge in trick-or-treaters knocking at our door but there have been absolutely ZILCH the entire time we've lived here! :(

Having said that, I think it's a pretty awesome holiday so this year I've designed (kinda last minute, I know) these candy bag toppers. I've abandoned the traditional orange and black with this project. Yep, it's pink and red again (I know, I know. Promise to give up on this colour scheme soon. I think). Warning: Lots of Happy Lab candy was devoured in the making of this project! :)

FREE "Read My Lips" Notecards | October 03, 2013

Recently, (somewhere in between wolfishly tearing through self-improvement books and multiple failed attempts to curb a sugar addiction), I designed these mini lip-shaped notecards. The seemingly ubiquitous 'lips' motif, sported in many a fashion collection these days, finally snagged me and, as trends have a tendency to do, refused to let go. And so I was hopelessly compelled to design these little smoochies. Well, they are pretty freaking cute, aren't they?

It's as easy as pie to make: Download, Print, Cut. Fold. Write a fabulous message inside.

Oh, and I've also included gift tag versions as a bonus. Mwah!

FREE Pie Chart Gift Tags | July 02, 2013

If you've been following Eat Drink Chic recently you'll probably have noticed that gift tags are a bit of an obsession of mine at the moment. I think it's because they're like cute little works of art. Simple in concept, practical and also an opportunity to explore all kinds of 'graphicky' goodness!

Inspired partly by the colourwheel and partly by these awesome Pie Chart Stickies from Present and Correct, I set out to design gift tags in a similar vein. Above is what I came up with!

I recently used one of these tags to embellish a friend's birthday gift packaging. I also cut out little semi circles from some gold stickers to decorate the wrap. And just in case you're curious as to what was inside the package- it was a copy of The Hand Book and a set of nail art brushes which I picked up from Lulu.

Tackling some nail art has been on the bucket list for awhile, so I actually bought a copy of both the book and brushes for myself and for my friend! Of course, if I'm feeling lazy (a strong possibility), I might pop round to Trophy Wife Nail Art and just get them done for me. So many inspiring designs...

Random Lovelies.. | June 21, 2013

I haven't tackled one of these posts in awhile.... you know, the random mish-mash of details from our home. So I figured it was probably time :)

Firstly, my obsession with bowls has gone a tad out of control. What you see above, is not the complete collection, mind you. They're just so dang pretty. I can't resist.

I just need to find a creative way to display them all.

My latest weakness, however, is for pot plants. A growing collection currently inhabits the top of our bar.

Ok, let's face it, this is merely an excuse to collect interesting planters and feed my insatiable hunger for pretty ceramics. Shh... don't tell anyone.

I went to The Collectors Corner at Gardenworld earlier this week with the intention of buying an airplant. I was completely overwhelmed by the sheer variety. Who knew? I waded through hundreds of succulents, cacti and airplants and eventually (whilst on the brink of a head explosion) settled on the succulent below and the prettiest airplant I could find (far right on the bar).

Gardenworld is a plant-lovers paradise. For a mere dabbler, such as myself, it can be a tad overwhelming but still very much worth the visit!

And in other random lovelies...

Saturday lunch. Boiled eggs, spring onion, Simon Johnson mayo, spelt toast. Yum.

Oh, and my gift tag obsession continues... This time I'm using images from an old Ted Baker catalogue.

And it just wouldn't be right to not include a little 'Sukie' in here...

It's funny, the unique vernacular that starts to develop within a household. For example, Sukie takes meds each morning. To make these more palatable, we thickly envelop them in peanut butter. Mark has nicknamed her meds "Scooby Snacks". The mere mention of those words and Sukie becomes a frantic mess. Probably because he also lets her lick the spoon when she's finished!

Sukie, like most dogs, understands the word 'Walk'. So, to avoid any premature paw stamping, circular jumping, and tail wag action,  Mark has started to get creative when discussing the activity. Each time, he uses different code words. It started with "Are you ready to monkey the monkey?" but, in recent times, I'm pretty sure I caught him saying "You ready to hand-crochet the alabaster?". Go figure.

Do you remember when I bought this lovely print by Mia Oatley? I forgot to mention that I got it framed. Wowsers. How is it that the framing is about a zillion times more expensive than the artwork itself? Looks pretty though. I have yet to decide where to hang it...

And that's all the news! If you like this kinda jazz, visit Sundayland.

Happy Friday everybody! :)

The Pretty Things | May 14, 2013

I'm at a loss for words today.

In my flu-ridden downtime, over the last couple of weeks, there was an abundance of words. And so I wrote- A lot. And now I'm fresh out.

I hope to share those words with you someday... but I'm not quite ready yet. Best to stick with the pretty things...

I designed these gift tags quite awhile ago. Not sure why I've taken so long to share them with you! If you like them, you can download them inside this post.

Oh, and the pretty raindrop giftwrap (shown above) is a free printable from Mini Eco.

Speaking of pretty things, I have an obsession with quirky and unique planters at the moment. Would love to cover the top of our bar with a huge cluster of them! I found the one shown above at Mr. Kitly. Such a lovely store. I never leave empty-handed.

Also, I recently chopped up an old Gorman brochure for the gorgeous patterns. What do you think- frame them? Make gift tags... or envelope liners?

I have to say, I am actually enjoying Autumn and the return of the cooler weather. It's nice to watch the daily, yellow foliage showers in our backyard. Although, perhaps not quite as nice to have to sweep them up...

Thanks to those who sent well wishes! I'm feeling a lot better now. No more 'fuzzyhead' and I'm feeling all inspired again! :)

All you need is a printer, good quality white card stock, patterned masking tape and a mini pink (or red) colour pencil.

I hope you like them! :)

FREE Holiday Greeting Tag and Pocket | December 03, 2012

I know the incessant carolling can be mind-numbing, the overly crowded shops are tear-your-hair-out frustrating and the tinsel is overwhelming but I love this season. Probably because it gives me an excuse to go details crazy. And we all know how much I love my details. Wrapping, baking, decorating... oh my!

With this holiday freebie, I decided to go for a little more of a traditional vibe... because the classics can be fun too!

It's a kind of tag/card hybrid to adorn your gifts or send in the mail- and it's available in 2 designs. I have also included a cute red and blue plaid pocket to tuck the tag into. The recipient can put the tag on display, much like a greeting card, except it can be tied to the Christmas tree or a hook, or decorative branches...

Oh, and the little toothpick signs that you see in some of these photos are part of freebie set that I will make available soon, so stay tuned!

FREE Patterned Holiday Gift Tags | December 02, 2012

Firstly, I want to send out big hugs to all those who sent sweet comments and tweets regarding my new site- it makes me so happy to receive such positive feedback!  It's always a little nerve-wracking when you make such a major change so it's been wonderfully encouraging. You guys rock- Thank-you so much!! xo

Now, onto some holiday goodness...

Down here in Oz we usually celebrate our Christmas in the scorching heat. Our festive season is a flurry of barbecues, pool and beach parties, picnics and warm sunshine... not exactly the typical motifs associated with the holiday season.

So I thought I'd create a series of patterned gift tags in bright colours to reflect a more modern and summery feel for your holiday gifts! If you're interested in trying a slightly less traditional look for your gifts this year, these tags may be for you!
