A Few Facts

Apr 22 2010

The following are some facts about me that I should probably be too embarrassed
to tell you:

*I used to drink coffee, not for the taste, but for the swell of self-confidence from the caffeine high.

*I haven't read a novel in years because of the lack of pretty pictures.

*I truly miss Lorelei Gilmore.

*I used to think the phrase was "It's a doggy dog world".

*Ice-cream is my greatest weakness.

*I've stopped watching Grey's Anatomy due to a recently developed fear of mortality.

*I can't stand untidiness and mess. I am lazy and hate cleaning. Therein lies the conundrum.

*I've only just discovered the wonders of japanese novelty erasers and suddenly the world is a better place.

This post made me laugh out loud (which in turn had some Acela train riders stare at me funny). But I don't care because this made my morning. As a side note, I too have an ice cream obsession!

    This list was awesome.

I completely relate with missing Lorelai Gilmore, she is after all my daughters namesake. Some nights I watch an old episode just to see her again in action!

I can totally relate to so many of those - Lorelei Gilmore is my idol, I can't put down ice cream and I hate mess but hate to clean them up as well!

I still tape Gilmore Girls EVERY evening on ABC family so I can watch and re-watch. Love the Gilmores! Have you been watching Parenthood though? She is great in that as well! :)

I love this post. You are pretty awesome.
  15. Amy said on Apr 23, 2010
It's not Gilmore Girls--but Parenthood is pretty good and Lauren Graham still plays a mom. I think, if you HAVE to have a substitute, it's a pretty good one.

Of course, I also own all of GG on dvd.

I've never heard of Parenthood- will have to check it out! Thanks for letting me know! :)

Friends and family may choose to commit me if I watch the whole series of gilmore girls for another time around.

OMG! My fiance has the worse ice cream addiction! Don't even get me started every time we walk pass Harujuku Crepes in Melbourne.
I too suffer from disliking my mess, but too lazy to clean. Love your blog and your humour!
  23. Kristin said on Apr 23, 2010
I am totally with you on the untidiness and mess. I too value order and dislike cleaning.
  24. Becca said on Apr 23, 2010
    Oh hi!
Never seen your blog before but I just decided I love it because of the colors.
And because the little list right here is so cute.
I can relate...ha ha especially to the "doggy dog world" thing.
But specifically in A Bugs Life, where the grasshopper says, "it's a bug-eat-bug world", and I'm thinking, "Buggy bug world? Huh?"
    Ha ha
Glad I'm not the only one!
  25. Dorothy said on Apr 23, 2010

Secondly, I can completely understand, I really miss Lorelei Gilmore too!

And thirdly......ummm....is the phrase not "It's a doggy dog world"?!?!

I thought I was the only person who was in Lorelei withdrawl! I was sure she & Suki would want to be friends with me! Are you getting Parenthood down there? Lauren Graham is fantastic in whatever she does! (It eases the pain anyways....)
  29. sarah said on Apr 24, 2010
That's really interesting about Grey's Anatomy and mortality. I feel like I've recently developed that fear too! I don't know where it came from, but it hsas just descended upon me over the last year. The only comfort I have is that my husband USED to be the one with that fear, but he seems to have gotten over it somewhat. He's a couple of years older than I am, so maybe mine will pass, too?
  30. pixie said on Apr 24, 2010
Ohhh! It's so nice to see so many Lorelei Gilmore fans. I miss that entire show sooo much. Lorelei, Rory, Sookie...all the funny (strange and ha ha funny) small town characters. I totally saw so many of my hometown peeps in those characters! lol

My fav episode is when Rory hangs out with the secret society group and they dress up and jump off the platform with the umbrellas! I'm such a nerd. :)

    I LOVE THAT eraser!

This post put a huge smile on my face. It's funny, but I totally relate to a lot of your points, especially about missing Lorelei and not watching Grey's anymore. Oh, and the cute erasers <3

i quote" *I can't stand untidiness and mess. I am lazy and hate cleaning. Therein lies the conundrum."

thankyou for letting me know im not the only one in this situation, thought i was going stir crazy!

Lorelei Gilmore..sigh..I still go through withdrawals whenever I see her on Parenthood. However, that is a pretty good show, she's even got a little Lorelei left over that seems to pop out in her new character every once in a while.
  35. Amy said on Apr 25, 2010
I can't get through a novel anymore either, so don't feel too bad. My boyfriend used to work in a local shop called Kawaii Gifts, which imported cute Japanese goods, and he said the novelty erasers were the biggest seller--I guess all little girls want to be unique :)
  36. Elizabeth said on Apr 25, 2010
Oh dear. Grey's Anatomy has fine-tuned my ability to be careful. Thinking about running a red light? Don't do it! It might put you in the hands of some interns. And who knows what could happen then?

But I can't not watch. I've seen every episode. That would be horrible to do something else and know that "those people" are doing things without me.

    Crazy!
  37. Justin Wheeler said on Apr 26, 2010
Wow, thanks for sharing. I am now oddly obsessed with those erasers as well.

I discovered your blog through a Japanese blogger in NYC. Your blog is beautiful!! I used to collect cute erasers, but never used them. I don't even know what I did with them. I still drink coffee knowing that it's not good for me. At least you quit. That's good for you!!

So I just found your blog via elephantine.typepad.com.

Thoughts: this is the first post I read simply because of the picture.
2nd. You immediately won me over from your same missing of Lorelei/Lorelai Gilmore. And laughed as I was eating ice cream.

PS I just found some erasers that we picked up months ago from Japantown yesterday.

    I'm a fan already!

I am also obsessed with Lorelai Gilmore and have spent sick days and laidback weekends at home, watching every episode of every season, back to back. I wished just last week they'd film a reunion episode but I think it would just leave me wanting more. Long live the Gilmores!
  44. Sarah said on May 1, 2010
Oh the witty banter! Paul Anka! The obsession with coffee! I'm not sure how I've managed without Loralai and Rory for so long, I miss them deeply!

I am constantly wondering " what would Lorelai do?" ... i miss her too
  47. anelieze said on May 7, 2010
okay...i think we should start a "Gilmore Girl/Lorelai/Rory Fan Club." just us "design/blog lovers/lovers of anything pretty" girls. my friend borrowed the 7th season from me and then she moved to New Mexico...a year and a half ago {i live in cali}! I'm having withdrawls and want my 7th season back! :(

thanks for this list. i concur :)

Hi! Thanks for posting the website for the Japanese erasers! Have you seen the Japanese Miniature food collection by Re-Ment (www.puchipetiteshop.com)? I'm sure you would love these too. :)
