FREE Pie Chart Gift Tags | July 02, 2013

If you've been following Eat Drink Chic recently you'll probably have noticed that gift tags are a bit of an obsession of mine at the moment. I think it's because they're like cute little works of art. Simple in concept, practical and also an opportunity to explore all kinds of 'graphicky' goodness!

Inspired partly by the colourwheel and partly by these awesome Pie Chart Stickies from Present and Correct, I set out to design gift tags in a similar vein. Above is what I came up with!

I recently used one of these tags to embellish a friend's birthday gift packaging. I also cut out little semi circles from some gold stickers to decorate the wrap. And just in case you're curious as to what was inside the package- it was a copy of The Hand Book and a set of nail art brushes which I picked up from Lulu.

Tackling some nail art has been on the bucket list for awhile, so I actually bought a copy of both the book and brushes for myself and for my friend! Of course, if I'm feeling lazy (a strong possibility), I might pop round to Trophy Wife Nail Art and just get them done for me. So many inspiring designs...

If you have any issues downloading, try right clicking (Control and Click on the mac) on the download button and saving directly to your computer.

NOTE: Do not use Mac Preview to view or print this file as the colours may come out completely wrong. Save the file to your computer (Press Control and Click on the download button and "Save Linked File as") and open with Adobe Reader instead. If you do not have this program, you can download it for free from here

I have used a Canon Pixma MG6150 Colour Inkjet Printer in conjunction with 'Canon 275gsm Photo Paper Plus Glossy II'.  This photo paper is awesome- it's thick, strong and super glossy! It also doesn't have a watermark on the back so it's great for gift tags.

Always make sure, in the printer 'setup' that you set your printer quality settings to "High".

To cut out the tags, I've used an EK Tools 2.5 inch Circle Punch. For the ones with the with the centre hole I've used an EK Tools 1 Inch Circle Punch. (Make sure to punch out the inner circle before punching the outer circle).

    These are really cute!
Quick question - do you print these from home or do you send them to a digital printer?
If you do print from home, may i ask what kind of printer you use? Your labels & tags always look really vibrant.
    Thanks so much!
  2. Hi Meg! Thanks for your comment. I print these from home. If you look at the 'Construction Tips' near the bottom of this post (with the scissors icon) you will see what printer and also what paper I use. The glossy photo paper is what makes the colours so vibrant. Hope that was helpful :)
  3. Oh neat, I didn't realize you were local until you mentioned Trophy Wife Nail Art!
  4. These are gorgeous! I'm a gift wrap/packaging fiend and madly in love with these pretties!
  5. Graphicky goodness indeed! Love your design style. (And your notes answered my exact questions about how you get that hi-gloss, vibrant look for printables. Thanks!)
  6. Oh my goodness, these are adorable! Thank you for sharing. Just the right amount of vibrant for the summer!
